Fasting is one of the most powerful spiritual disciplines of all the Christian disciplines. Through fasting and prayer, the Holy Spirit can transform your life.
Ready to experience living under an open Heaven? We’re entering the freshness of the new year with fasting and prayer. Prepare to hear, see, and receive from God more clearly this year.
From Monday, January 9th until Friday, January 13th, we have set aside as a week of prayer and corporate fasting. The fast you choose is between you and God. He will honor your BEST SACRIFICE. Your decision to fast should be done under the supervision of a doctor or medical professional if you have health concerns. Here are two options for you to consider.
FULL FAST – Drink only water. No food for the full 5 days (or choose the number of days that you’re able).
PARTIAL FAST – If you can’t commit to a full fast consider a partial fast. A partial fast is drink only water, no food from 6am to 6pm or from sun up to sundown.
We are asking everyone to do their best and abstain from all food. We understand this may be a big leap of faith for some and want to challenge you to give and sacrifice your best to seek God and His kingdom.
Each day, we’re sending out videos from each pastor, so keep an eye for them. These will help guide you in your personal devotion time.
Here some messages from Pastor Eben to help you prepare for the fast.

HOW TO END THE FAST
While you are fasting for spiritual reasons, there are still physical implications.
If you have fasted all week, we wanted to give some guidance on breaking a long fast. The flesh wants to feed but too much of a good thing can bring a lot of pain. On a side note, although you will have lost weight during the fast (around 1-2 pounds per day) if you go from zero calories for 5 days straight into eating whatever you want on day 6, you could actually gain all of that weight back plus more as your body is desperate to eat.
Your digestive systems have been on vacation for the last week and forcing it to work full throttle can cause issues, so here are a few recommendations when breaking your fast.
- Ease back into your normal diet
- Eating foods in high fiber can cause one to have excessive or sharp gas pains.
- We suggest starting with soups or broth and allowing your stomach to grow accustomed to digesting again.
- Choose foods to break your fast that are lower in carbohydrates, rich in electrolytes, and gentle on the stomach.
- Once your stomach has started to expand again, then gradually add more food.
- Finally, avoid foods that are high in sugar or fat.
Those are some general guidelines when breaking a fast. Remember, each body is different and will respond different when breaking a prolonged fast. If you have concerns, please consult your doctor as this is not medical advice.
